New Warning System & Update on Win-Trading and Key Activation

We've rolled out a new warning system to help keep SteamDrops fair for all participants. Here's what you need to know:

What's new?

Moderators can now issue formal warnings to users who violate our rules. Warnings will appear on your account and you'll be notified when one is issued. Each warning includes a reason and a duration — take them seriously.

What will get you warned?

• Win-trading — Entering giveaways created by someone who also enters yours, or any form of coordinated reciprocal gifting to farm points, levels, or keys.

• Not activating won games — If you win a giveaway and don't activate the key on your Steam account, that's a problem. Keys are meant to be played, not hoarded or traded elsewhere.

What happens?

First offense: You will receive a warning which will stay for 30 days. Depending on severity of the abuse (eg. having 0% activation of won giveaways will receive a 7 day giveaway ban and won't be able to enter any giveaways).

Repeated offenses: Further violations may lead to a longer or permanent giveaway ban, or a full account suspension.

Why?

SteamDrops only works when people participate in good faith. Win-trading undermines the system for everyone, and unused keys are wasted gifts. These measures ensure that generous creators see their games go to people who actually want to play them.
