Registration Requirements

To keep the Steam Drops community safe and fair, all new accounts must meet specific requirements during registration. We verify these automatically using your Steam profile.

Profile Privacy

Your Steam profile must be completely Public. If your profile or Game Details are set to "Private" or "Friends Only", our system cannot verify your eligibility to join.

How to Fix: Go to your Steam Profile -> Edit Profile -> Privacy Settings. Set "My profile" and "Game details" to Public. (Make sure "Always keep my total playtime private" is unchecked).

Minimum Account Value

To deter bot accounts and abuse, your Steam Library must meet a minimum value of $50.

Eligible Games: Only base games that exist and are active on Steam count towards this value.
Excluded Items: DLCs (Downloadable Content), free-to-play games, and games that have been unlisted from the Steam store do not count towards your library value.
Calculation: The value is calculated using the standard Store Price. If a game has ever been discounted by 70% or more, the reduced game value will be counted instead of the full store price.

                 Once registered, you can revert your Steam Privacy settings back to your preferred state. We only require a public profile during the initial registration scan.
            

Points System

Our economy runs on points, which you earn passively and use to enter giveaways.

You earn 3 points every 10 minutes.

You do not need to be online constantly. Points accumulate while you are away. When you return to the site, all the points you missed (up to your cap) are awarded instantly.

Max Points Cap

There is a limit to how many points you can hold at once. This encourages active participation.

Base Cap: 200 Points
Level Bonus: +10 Points per Level
Formula: Max Points = 200 + (Level × 10)

Creating Giveaways

Share the fun by creating giveaways! Creating a giveaway costs points equal to the Store Price of the game (capped at 60 points).

Cost: Store Price × Number of Copies (max 60 points per entry).
Contribution: The value of the game counts towards your Sent Value, which increases your Level.
Regions: You can restrict giveaways to specific regions if your keys are region-locked.

Giving away high-value games is the fastest way to level up!

Game Value & Reduced Value

Not all games are worth their Steam Store Price. To keep the economy fair and prevent abuse with cheap bundle games, we use a price verification system.

Reduced Value Rule: If a game has ever been discounted by 70% or more, the contribution to your Sent Value will be that lower historical price, not the full Store Price.

Diminishing Returns: After 5 copies of the same game, each additional copy contributes 10% less to your Sent Value.

Example:

Game A: Store Price $20. Historical Low $10 (50% off). Counts as $20.
Game B: Store Price $20. Historical Low $4 (80% off). Counts as $4.
Game C: Store Price $5. Found on gray market for $0.05. Counts as $0 (No Value).

Reduced Value Games

Games that have been heavily discounted historically, sold in cheap bundles, or found at very low prices on legitimate key stores are marked as Reduced Value. Their credited price is adjusted to reflect the actual market value instead of the inflated Store Price.

No Value Games

Games that are essentially free on the gray market (sold for pennies) are marked as No Value. These games credit $0.00 — they do not contribute to your Sent Value, Level, or the winner's Won Value.

What is affected?

Sent Value: Creators receive the reduced/no value amount as credit towards their level — not the full Store Price.
Won Value: Winners also receive the reduced/no value amount in their stats.
Entry Cost: Entering the giveaway still costs points based on the full Store Price. This is unchanged.
Creation Cost: Creating the giveaway still costs points based on the full Store Price.

You can still give away reduced and no-value games — they simply won't help you level up. This system ensures that levels reflect genuine generosity, not bulk giveaways of near-free games.

You can check if a game is reduced by looking at its giveaway page — games with adjusted value display a Reduced Value or No Value badge.

Entering & Winning

Found a game you want? Enter the giveaway using your points.

Entry Cost: Equal to the game's Store Price divided by the number of copies (max 60 points).
Selection: Winners are chosen randomly by the system using a cryptographically secure algorithm when the timer ends.
Minimum Entries: If a giveaway ends with fewer than 5 entries, it is automatically cancelled and all entrants receive a full refund.
Keys & Feedback: Won keys appear on your My Gifts page. You have 7 days to reveal them — unrevealed keys are rerolled to another entrant. Once revealed, you must mark the key as Working or Invalid before using any other site feature.

Levels & Slots

Your Level represents your reputation as a gifter. It is based on the total dollar value of games you have given away (Sent Value).

Giveaway Slots

Slots determine how many giveaways you can run simultaneously. You start with 4 Base Slots.

You can earn more slots by being a good gifter:

Bonus: +1 Slot for every 5 successful giveaways (marked "Working" by winners).
Penalty: -1 Slot for each giveaway with an invalid key report.
Formula: Slots = 4 + (Working / 5) - Invalid

Level Benefits

Higher Points Cap: Store more points to enter expensive giveaways.
Access: Enter giveaways that have a minimum level requirement.
Prestige: Show off your contribution to the community!
