After months of testing, refinement, and community feedback, SteamDrops is officially leaving beta today.
Thank you to everyone who participated, reported bugs, and helped shape the platform. This would not have been possible without you.

The new registered users will no longer receive a beta tester role as of today.

New Features

Leave Giveaway

You can now leave a giveaway after entering, subject to a daily leave limit set by your role. Your entry cost is refunded when you leave. Leaving is blocked within the final minute of a giveaway to prevent last-second manipulation.

Compact View for Giveaways

The giveaway list now supports a compact table layout as an alternative to the card grid. Toggle between views using the switcher on the listing page. Your preference is saved to your account and persists across sessions.

Giveaway Filters

The giveaway listing page has received several new filter options, giving you more control over what you see. Filter by game type, status, cost, and more — active filters are shown as dismissible tags so you always know what's applied.

Comment Editing on Giveaways

You can now edit your own comments on giveaway pages using an inline editor, the same way you edit posts in the forums. Editing is only available while the giveaway is still active. A Last edited timestamp appears on the footer of any comment that has been modified.

Base Game Info on DLC Giveaways

DLC giveaway pages now display information about the required base game, so you can immediately see what you need to own before entering.

Profile Page Overhaul

The user profile page has been redesigned with a new hero section, improved achievement display, cleaner stat layout, and color-coded giveaway card statuses for multi-winner giveaways.

Trustpilot Widget

A Trustpilot review widget has been added to the footer.

Bug Fixes

DLC Giveaways — Free Base Game Blocked Entry

Users were being blocked from entering DLC giveaways when the required base game is free-to-play. This was caused by a Steam API limitation: free games only appear in a user's library data if they have been launched at least once. The ownership check has been updated to skip verification entirely when the base game costs nothing, since anyone can obtain it freely.

Quote Button — Content Cut Off After First Line

The quote button on forum posts, replies, and giveaway comments was only including the first line of a post. All subsequent lines were dropped. Every line of the quoted content is now correctly prefixed with > so multi-line posts quote in full.

Login — Redirect Flow and Regressions

Several regressions in the login flow were fixed, including broken redirects after authentication. Logging in from a giveaway page now correctly returns you to that giveaway once authenticated.

Steam OpenID — Hardened Authentication

SSL verification, timeout handling, and error handling in the Steam OpenID integration have been tightened.

Winner Reveal — Exposure Before Feedback

A winner's identity was being exposed on the giveaway page while their key status was still awaiting feedback. This has been corrected — winners are only shown once the feedback state is resolved.

Trust Level Showing Neutral Incorrectly

Users with problematic keys and no successful ones were displaying as "Neutral" instead of showing a 0% trust score. The trust level calculation has been corrected.

Forum Lock Status Display

The locked status indicator on forum topics was not rendering correctly in some cases. This has been fixed.

Forum — Minimum Title and Body Length

Forum topic creation was not correctly enforcing minimum length requirements for the title and body fields on the client side. Validation is now consistent.

Improvements

Giveaway Card Redesign

Giveaway cards now display the price as an overlay on the game image, with a full-width title and a dedicated tag row for DLC, Bundle, Private, and Region labels.
